Anyone who has chatted with me since I opened the Aware Lab for Movement and Creativity knows how much I love it’s home in the Box Factory for the Arts. Originally a literal box factory opened in 1905, it has been the embodiment of the Berrien Artist Guild since 1995. From the Box Factory website…”The Berrien Artist Guild, Inc., founded in 1962, purchased the historic Williams Bros. Paper Box Mfg. building in 1995. This small group of enthusiastic artists converted the old factory building into today’s multi-use arts facility known as the Box Factory for the Arts where all the arts are celebrated.”
If you have not given yourself the time to wander the studios, galleries and public spaces of the Box, you are missing something special. Have you followed them on Facebook yet? Or signed up to receive the newsletter and be on the mailing list? These are the most up-to-date ways to know what is coming up next… new art in the galleries or an Artist Reception, or even a concert, like when Lake Effect Jazz came to play. An afternoon spent in the Box is one of the most peaceful, inspiring things you can experience in Saint Joseph!
I want to encourage you to join the Berrien Artist Guild…for $35 you can become an insider, a supporter of the Box Factory and enjoy first-hand notification of special events, a discount in the Box Factory Art Market and even the opportunity to participate in Members Art Shows (the next one is coming up in November, which is why I am writing about this now).
Any new or current student of The Aware Lab who signs up to join the Berrien Artists Guild between now and November 15 will enjoy $10 off an Aware Lab 10-Class Pack or 10-pack of private lessons.
So bring in your proof of new membership to receive your discount on a 10-Class Pack or 10-Private Lesson Pack!
